Estorick Collection of Modern Italian Art
Estorick Collection is an internationally renowned art gallery known for its collection of Modern Italian Art, you can see futurist works by Giacomo Balla, Umberto Boccioni, Carlo Carrà, Luigi Russolo and Gino Severini, but it also includes figurative art and sculpture dating from 1890 to the 1950 by artists such as Amedeo Modigliani, Marino Marini, Giorgio Morandi, Mario Sironi, Campigli and Giorgio de Chirico.
The Courtauld Gallery
The Courtauld Gallery houses one of the most important art collections in London, including Old Master and Impressionist and Post-Impressionist paintings, together with sculpture and applied arts. You will see artworks of Angelico, Botticelli, Beechey, Cranach the Elder, Goya, Rubens, Cézanne, Monet, Manet, Degas, Seurat, Renoir, Henri "Douanier" Rousseau, Toulouse-Lautrec, Modigliani, Gauguin, Cézanne and Van Gogh. World famous paintings include Botticelli's Holy Trinity with Saint John and Mary Magdalena, Cranach's Adam and Eve, Rubens’ Descent from the Cross, Gauguin's Nevermore and Te Rerioa, Manet’s Bar at the Folies-Bergère, Van Gogh’s Self-Portrait with Bandaged Ear and Cherry Orchard, Cézanne’s Still Life, Renoir’s La Loge. The collection is situated in the Strand Block of Somerset House
The National Portrait Gallery
Founded in 1856, the National Portrait Gallery houses a unique collection of over 10,000 paintings, sculptures, drawings, caricatures, watercolours, silhouettes and photographs of famous men and women throughout British history from the Middle Ages until the present day. Notable portraits include Henry VIII, William Shakespeare, The Beatles and Queen Elizabeth II.
The Tate Modern
Located on the South Bank of the Thames and opened on 12 May 2000, Tate Modern is the world's biggest collection of Modern Art from 1900 to the present day and it is free, you can see work by artists such as Claude Monet, Barnett Newman, Roy Lichtenstein, Anish Kapoor, Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dalí, Tacita Dean, Andy Warhol, Louise Bourgeois, Gilbert & George and Susan Hiller. There is a whole room devoted to Mark Rothko.
The National Gallery
Located on the north side of Trafalgar Square and founded in 1824. The National Gallery contains more than 2,300 paintings, dating from the mid-13th century to the early 20th Century, including masterpieces by Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Titian, Hogarth, Rembrandt, Gainsborough, Turner, Raphael, Caravaggio, Renoir, Cezanne and Van Gogh, these paintings belong to the public. There is no admission fee to the main collection.
The Royal Academy of Arts
Founded in 1768 and situated in West End on Piccadilly, The Royal Academy of Arts is the oldest fine arts institution in the U.K., today features exhibitions of works by artist as revered as Rembrandt, Rubens, Monet, Gainsborough, Constable, Turner and Michelangelo. Its annual Summer Exhibition displays select work from up and coming artists and by academicians.
The Hayward Gallery
The Hayward Gallery is one of the biggest temporary art exhibition centers in the U.K. The gallery host exhibitions of contemporary and historical works. The Hayward has been host of many of the world's most influential exhibitions since its opening on 9 July 1968.
